It was truly a pleasure to collaborate with the workplace consultants at SBI. They helped us see beyond traditional models and to envision what the classroom of the future might look like. In higher education, it’s common to become narrowly focused on updating the A/V elements as the pathway to modernization. But the furniture pieces and accessories that we landed on truly create a classroom that not only looks great, but helps us see new opportunities for pedagogy and community-building.

An important goal for us in our renovation was to create dynamic learning environments that provide faculty members with flexibility to meet student learning and pedagogical goals. With our new classroom furniture and accessories, faculty members can modify the room’s layout on the fly—between classes, or even in the middle of class. We are no longer restricted by fixed and lifeless classroom furniture. We’re so pleased that our partners at SBI helped us see these possibilities. – Matt Seevers, Ph.
